There has been so much B.S about B.S. (Bullshit about Balkan Sobranie), that we felt it was time for PipesMagazine.com, with the expert investigative journalism skills, and decades of tobacco industry experience of Gregory L. Pease, to step up with the albeit incomplete, but most factual information on the legendary blend presented to date.

We have left out the flowery language, poetry, prose and parade of adjectives, and instead have included actual internal company documents from Gallaher obtained from confidential industry sources.

It's interesting. It seems the more I learn about that blend, the more mysterious it seems.

    Great essay.

Good read ! Nice lunch break reading

"The fact is, squire, the moment a man takes to a pipe, he becomes a philosopher. It's the poor man's friend; it calms the mind, soothes the temper, and makes a man patient under difficulties. It has made more good men, good husbands, kind masters, indulgent fathers, than any other blessed thing on this universal earth."

I am sorry I missed the original offerings. Enjoyed the article though. I will be including GLPease's Meridian on my next TAD, so I can at least touch on the original blend.

Another great read from the master of tobacco!
