Help! I overcooked some food in a Pyrex clear glass baking dish the residue won'tt come off even though I have soaked the sucker for two days. Also tried some "paste" from baking soda which helped a little. Any suggestions to clean it sans throwing it out.

SOS pads and a magic eraser afterward will get anything off of a Pyrex dish.

Bar Keepers Friend. It will get just about anything off of just about anything else!

A couple suggestions:

Bar Keeper's Friend

Boil water in it if you can. Water is a great way to clean crud from the bottom and sides in the pan.

Coca-Cola is a good suggestion. The acid in it will dissolve a human tooth overnight. (Just think about that the next time you reach for one. Whiskey is way safer.)

Since it's pyrex, try using one of these:

Since it is pyrex, you might be able to burn it off by running cooking it at 500 degrees for a while, as Pyrex is rated to at least that. If you are brave, you might put it through an oven cleaning cycle.
