I'm kind of going the other direction than Oppie, but what makes a bad pipe...???

I really hate to say Bad Pipe, but I have one right now that just sucks...

    It's my Ropp Supreme...

I'm ready to go over to the shop, get the biggest drill bit and just ream the chamber... The walls taper so drasticly that it wont pack correctly...

I like how it feels and smokes, when I can get some smoke... It just needs to have a 1" Forstner bit run down the chamber... it's to restricted in the bottom and you can't get a good draw... I guess... I'm no pipe expert, but the wall design just sucks...

I had a Stanwell "seconds" pipe. Smoked really bad. Horrible pipe. I was on the roof cleaning the gutters out last week and it fell out of my mouth on to the driveway and broke in a million pieces. I was actually happy I didn't have to deal with it anymore.

Lawrence, I'll swap you straight across right now...

Snicker snicker at you Oppie... I know how you feel... You don't need an excuse to get rid of it if it's broke.

    Drill baby drill .

Pipes are like women, there ain't no bad pipes, just some's better that others.

Opps, I take that back. I forgot about The Pipe.

I agree with Art avoid Brylon at all cost. A very terrible material for a pipe to be made from. Atleast with any wood pipe you can make modification if needed. Drill her out Phil, it'll probablly make a world of difference.

I have 5 Jobey pipes in my collection. They are nicely constructed and have a screw on mouth piece which I love. The press on's are a pain to detach and reattach, being a machinist and critical of press fits, I find myself hand working expensive pipes more to my liking. The Jobeys are in the $46.00 to $60.00 range. Nice everyday pipes.

The last one I bought was a Stromboli #300. Nice size for a quick smoke. But, this pipe had 2 holes in the neck area.Making it impossible to draw to light. The pipe went back today. This was my first junker pipe.

I like the screw on stems. That's a first in my collection. Great idea and easy to clean.

there's some cheapies out there made of rosewood ... terrible stuff, burns almost as well as tobacco.
