I found this on Missouri Meerschaum's website...
The Marcus from Missouri Meerschaum is a design that we originally made for promotional purposes for a tobacco company for marketing its pipe tobacco. However, due to the new FDA regulations, the company decided to curtail its pipe tobacco business. Since we liked the design, we decided to keep it and make it available to everyone.
I smoke the heck out of RO's Country Gentleman blend.

Does MM's statement mean that it will no longer be produced?

The death of a thousand cuts. The regs will be nibbling at the small businesses around pipes and tobacco for years to come. The regulatory costs are at a level where only the mega-corps will be able to shoulder them. I guess we all have to be crazy-cheerful to buck up for this long sad road. Check out those Iwan Ries blends that have been around since the 1950's or before, for starters. We do get a look at the forgotten old-time blends. I'm watching the PC Midtown Blends in tubs, which I think will be vulnerable eventually.
