Anyone have experience with these? They look very affordable, and if well made they could be a great value.

Well "affordable" is a seriously relative term. He makes some very nice looking pipes, but I wouldn't really put them in "affordable" list in MY book. They're certainly "attainable."
I would consider a MM Cob affordable. Someone on the forums recently bought a sandblasted apple of his that was awesome.

I too tripped over that phrasing, something like turned by machine then hand finished. I think hand made is

a relative term anyway. Most carvers use power tools of various kinds. Askwith look like well crafted pipes

and seem to be approved by their owners. I know what derfargin is talking about; any pipe over $150 is

a serious investment for a vast majority of pipe smokers. But a quick run through SP's estate pipe pages

shows that there is a brisk market in the six hundred to thousands of dollars level.
