Are these pipes meers?

I got them on ebay for 8 bucks but the guy had them labeled as plastic. I'm just not sure but I figured I would pick them up and let you guys check them out.

First one. No case no markings.

This is the second. It has no case but the second pic might be markings???

I'm no expert, but it looks like they've been smoked, so I think they're likely meers.

Look like meers to me. Take the stem out and lick the end of the shank. If it feels like its absorbtive its block.

the shanks are very yellow with build up. I might try and clean it first then try you little test shaintiques.

Is there a way to tell they are meerschaum topd? Or can you just tell from the photos?

TopD is correct.

I could tell you the reasons why I say they are meerschaum, but it really comes down to handling very similar pipes that are meers.

Thanks for the info. I guess I got a good deal. I will probably sell the woman one because that is one ugly woman. I really like the figural head one though.

You know man, I didnt want to knock your new pipe.... I had one almost identical to that pipe awhile back and I thought she was kinda plain looking, but this chick here is downright fugly :rofl: She does have a lot bigger melons than mine did though.

not yet. I am in the process of moving and probably won't get to clean it till Friday. Here is a pic of the other one I bought that needs a new stem.

Did A good job on the pick up! Think I like the last one best. If you wanna deal on it let me know, I'd try to find a stem for it. My PAD kickin in lol! tryin to find a nice, I guess you would call it a pocket pipe. something that is small to carry but would hold atleast a 30-45 min smoke. My last meer aquisition was just over-kill but i had to smoke it atleast once! lol!

Yeah maybe. I've been trying to find a stem but haven't looked to much yet. I've been looking around pipe makers emporium.

My first thought was to send it to walker briar works, prolly cost around 30-40 bucks, but he would fix it up, and would be worth it if its a nice pipe...

I didn't pay that much for it so if it was me I would just try and fix it myself but if you want it as is that's up to you I suppose. I just ordered some beeswax so I can get the 3 re-coated with it after cleaning.
