I have been thinking of buying an Ardor pipe. I already own a Cavicchi which I absolutely love since it is a great smoker and the pipe engineering is second to none (draft hole in the middle, at the bottom of the bowl and the draft hole is large) similar to my Castellos. I have read ocassional positive comments about Ardor pipes. How does the quality of Ardor compare with Cavicchi?

I have owned an Ardor for years...

It's a very fine pipe...

But... IMHO not in the same league as a Claudio Cavicchi.

I own 4... including a CCCCC.

The CCCCC is lower left, and the Ardor is center:

Lawrence,

That Tinsky/Rollar Paneled Calabash is a work of art. Fabulous craftsmanship and a signature shape. Thanks for sharing the photo with all those fine blocks of briar.

Most smooth Cavicchi pipes I have seen have some amazing grain, both previously posted photos surely depict the fact.

If they smoke as well as they look you have something special.

Thank you Doc.
They are some of my best pipes...

Cavicchis are always perfect.

Even his lower grades.

Here are my Cavicchi Brothers.

The Apple on the right got knocked off of my desk and the stem broke... :crying:

So I had it replaced.
