I picked up an estate lot and in it was this odd pipe. It's marked Mars pat. 7.6.26 and nothing else. I haven't been able to find any information about it. Can anyone point me to any info? Unfortunately it's got a big chip out of the front of the bowl but I think it's fixable.

Wierd looking bowl on the inside. Looks like a good moisture trap. Sorry no good info from me.

This is the only pipe I've seen with a moisture trap like that. I tried both pipephil.eu and pipedia with no luck. I even tried searching the patent office to see if I could find anything but no luck there either.

If you want to do a little research, I wonder if the historian at the U.S. patent office

could help you, or perhaps the association of patent lawyers, since you have a

patent number on the side of the pipe (if I'm seeing it right). This suggests it was

made in the U.S. or a country with patent agreement with us (but I'd think U.S.).

This is a real piece of history if you can track it down.
