Wow,

you got some real antiques there too,

some of the sterling ones are pretty old ain't they?
I really like that simple golf tee looking one, is that ivory?

The oldest is hallmarked 1901 and there are several made to hold an ember to light your pipe. The golf tee is an old wooden tee.

Ah, thanks for that, now I know why they look like that, I had no idea what the little forky thing was for, but now I know that they're tongs.
The golf tee is an old wooden tee.

I was afraid you were gonna say that,

...it IS a golf tee you dumbazz!

LOL
btw

is that a Lagioule there in the middle?

I've always wanted one of those.

In your opinion, is it worth the expense?

It is a Lagioule and if you keep your eyes open whilst surfing some very good buys can be had, it's a tank and the knife is handy for plugs.

Fish, you need to proceed directly to ebay and grab this one:

fish', you've got it right with the wooden golf tee; for anyone who might absentmindedly use a plastic one,

they burn and melt and you smoke plastic, which is not good. What a great collection. I have one fancy

tamper -- I think it may be willow topped with olive wood (guessing). The rest of mine are Czech tools

and pipe nails, which I "worship" for their simplicity. I'm inspired every time I use a pipe nail, and this has

prevented me from getting niftier versions.

So fish, after deciding on which pipe and which blend, you have to decide which tamper! What gets used the most frequently?

Is that a tusk or tooth of some kind with the brass cartridge casing? Very nice collection!

masonwarde,

Top left I've owned over 30 years, golf tee and deer antler in .45 ACP spent cartridge case (I have two of these), top slightly off center is the Dunhill used for a night out and the Imco next to it heading right with a no name long one under both of them and the Lagioule just about in the center. A few of the silver ones have been used by me but some are very recent.
rangerearthpig,

It's deer antler simply ground and sanded to shape, good use of those sheds one finds all chewed by field mice etc.
bill,

LMAO!
goldsm,

Love to see a photo as I'm sure others would as well.

Fish, I have to say that is an amazing collection. All treasures for sure! I've been smoking for almost three years now and still only have two of those Czech cheap pipe tools. The roofing nails I keep down in the barn work great too.

Nice collection fish.
That Dunhill is way over priced, might be worth maybe 1000.00 tops. Yes it is pretty rare but the gold is worth 332.00 tops so 8 times the price of the gold is way too high.

Thanks folks. Harris that Dunhill can stay listed for 100 years and it still won't be worth the price they want! :puffy:

fish, the guy is waiting for peck to plunk down the dumb money for that thing. The seller is Canadian and since all Canadians know each other he knows peck will pony up.
