Seems like the others are single posters, and haven't been online in quite some time.
We need to do this! Who's got a warm garage or even indoor area where we (looks like to be 3 in total) can congregate , smoke and enjoy each others company.

I'll volunteer my place for a future get together, my rec room is pretty small though, and I'll just assume in advance that the wife will want to be out of town of course.
Right now though, I have no furnace.
Getting a new one installed over the weekend, but thankfully it's not that cold yet. I need to build a new deck next year, which would be good when it warms up again. Provided no one minds a trip to the 'burbs...

great to see fellow Ottawarians express interest in a get together/club. Smoking a nice pipe is such a social event, it's a shame if we wouldn't work out a way to get together
Some guys mentioned that they regularly meet up at the casino in Hull? I've never been there before but maybe we could organize a meetup in their (as I heard quite nice) smoking lounge and talk shop?All the Best,

Ive checked out the smoking lounge at the Casino Lac Lemy, and they don't allow pipe smoking. This is when I called last year.

If you guys get the urge to head south and cross the border, the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino has lots of smoking, and there is a bar right down the road that has a lovely smoking lounge. Pm me, first few rounds are on me.

67's are playing at Scotiabank Place this year, they have the whole place to themselves. I'll probably catch a game or two, I'm less than 10 minutes from there. As good as the junior hockey is, this town isn't the same without the Senators playing.

Yeah I'm sure you guys miss that battle of Ontario with the Leafs. Always fun games to watch, especially on Hockey Night In Canada. I've been playing since I was seven years old, twenty-seven now, so I'm a pretty big fan. I like to keep up on the CHL kids, cause then you get a good idea of the next superstars and can better judge how well your team is drafting. Plus, it's pretty good hockey.

im there about once a week replenishing cleaners, filters and matches.....huge selection of tins. Never been to the Emporium, fancy place. Saw a pipe thatt made me drool, gonna save up. Bought the vanilla and maple, very very nice. Yet nothing like petrson's aromatics. Ordered 4 flavours from pipesandcigars, half the price with shipping. I still want to try MacBarens honey and chocte.
The other thing ive invested in is a full restoration kit, with overproof rum, salts, bleaching my vulcanic stems, and a full buffing wheel kit with compounds and wax. If anyone is in need of a deep cleaning and de-oxidizing, as well as buffing, let me know.

EDIT- If you've caught the restoration bug like hfearly and myself, start scanning the antique stores and flea markets in the area. Great deals to be had. If you can make the trek, there's a wonderful antique store in Almonte that I've bought several estates to restore. I found a Peterson Meer there, and my favourite Custombilt. I also posted a thread on a restoration of a Jeantet pipe that I purchased from there. They seem to get 'new' estates frequently...

My Peterson's 302 arrived today, along with my Petersons 2 pipe ashtray from 4noggins, some Connoisseur's Choice, Old Dublin, Dunhill Flake and Escudo Navy DeLuxe, all passed through customs no problem. Enjoying a very relaxing evening now.....with some great movies on LaserDisc, lol

Hi folks. In Kanata here. I made a large purchase of pipe tobacco (from Cup O Joes down South), thinking that it was their fine cut (very suitable for RYO). Turns out it's the course cut, only suitable for smoking in a pipe. So, now I have 5 12oz bags of Finsbury Natural, and I can't find a single pipe smoker to unload it on. So, I'll try here. If anyone wants it, they are welcome to it, no charge. I just don't want it to go to waste.
I'll try to remember to check this forum again, sometime in the future.

Don't know whether I have any fine cut that you might enjoy though... you are welcome to try some St. Bruno (the finest cut I have) or some Carter Hall (got a 14 oz tub of that stuff and it's pretty fine cut). I live in Chesterville and a friend of mine has a cottage near Lyon Mountain, NY. So I drive through the area a few times throughout the year.
The place gave me the impression that it was a little rough around the edges and I know that my wife wouldn't be very comfortable if we were to stop in for a smoke. I see that they are now advertising a new walk in humidor.

Lyon Mountain is a beautiful area. As far as the Brass Horse goes, I agree that maybe it's not the best place to take your wife.

There hasn't.
There was an active pipe club in Ottawa about 10 years ago, but nothing that I know of right now. I did meet up with Canasianpiper once for a box pass last year, but I haven't heard from him since. I'm still open for a meetup at some point, but I'm on the road a lot for work. The weeks tend to fly by.Just created an account because of this thread!
