Are you looking for high end pipes or average pipes? Let me know and I'll make recommendations.

Everyone beat me to recommendations, I like the looks of Rad Davis's pipes they are supposed to be superb smokers.

Mark Tinsky, Colin Frisby, Bob Hayes, Tim West, Skoda pipes, Rolando Negoita, steve Hynick are just a few of many excellent American pipe carvers along with those listed previously.

With all due respect to pstlpkr, my advice is to stay away from American Smoking Pipes/Mark Tinsky. I picked up one of his pipes and it was just aweful. He's the only pipe maker I've ever dealt with that had horrible customer service.

Hey Haunted,

I purchased mine at The Briary so I can't speak to any issues that you have had.

All I know is the pipe I have is "top shelf".

The quality may have changed over the years.

I purchased mine in 1985, I think.

Thanks Phil,

This is off topic, but the lower left is my Cavicchi "5C", and the lower right is my free form Bjarne.

The Cavicchi is about 10 years old and the Bjarne is from around 1985 or so.

For American makers I don't think you could go wrong with Brian Ruthenberg or Rad Davis. I have several from both and like em all. Brian makes larger pipes with a very open draw. Good luck!!
