Also got these, though I have used these for tampers, thought it was funny he advertised them as pipe tampers. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-in-Bag-75-Hardwood-Golf-Tees-2-1-8-Pipe-Tampers-/301206094966?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4621484476

Countless hours of fine machining and meticulous craftsmanship must have gone into those, uh, dowels.

Damn! I've got twenty feet or so in a variety of diameters. Maybe I'll start with three foot lengths and just cut off the end as it blackens. No dirty tamper, just a clean two foot 23inch tamper in my ashtray.
How long before they're on "Shark Tank" seeking a few million dollars for growth and marketing?

Stick a .45 brass casing on one end, call it the deluxe and increase your profit margins. That's what the Sharks would do for their 25% of the company.

I was wondering how he made beech into something beautiful. I have always thought the this wood was significantly less attractive than pine.
Did you catch the amount he was charging for shipping?

German engineering costs money. The real profit is in shipping. I just got an item that cost $15 S&H. The envelop it came in had $0.76 postage on it.
