I picked up an interesting little pipe on eBay a few weeks ago to add to my stack of pipes to restore. It's a fairly unique pipe aesthetically and I'm pretty fond of it. I'd really like to know what company or person made it, though. It's only stamped with "ALGERIAN BRIAR" in an all caps, sans serif script. I would suppose the lack of manufacturer name suggests it's a second, but I can't find out any more than that. Can anyone here help me ID this pipe? Thanks!

I'm surprised the stamping doesn't tell more. What I know is that Iwan Ries -- which does stamp its house pipes -- used to source them from Benton and billed them as Algerian briar, and they were, and are still, really nice briar pipes, though I don't think Benton is made, and Iwan Ries gets it house pipes from Genod these days. Bottom line, it could be a Benton. These were good factory pipes that might have a fill or two but were properly filled and nicely stained and provided good clear airways and often some nice grain.
