I first read Albert Mendez's writing in Rick Newcombe's book "In Search of Pipe Dreams" and I was highly impressed.
Was fortunate to read some in hard copies of TPSE,
but online was scarce to find.
He put out a zine/newsletter called the Pipe Smoker's Thing.
The only copy I could find was #4,
it's well worth printing out,
only eight pages,
but very good reading.

I immediately went out seeking more examples of his work.Albert Mendez has written extensively for many pipe-smoking publications, including The Pipe Smoker's Ephemeris and The Pipe Collector. And his newsletter, The Pipe Smoker's Thing, has always been an attraction to discerning pipe smokers around the world.
He lives in New York City.
