African Meer Question

Hey, I just scored a beautiful African meer on eBay. It's a 1983 Peterson with a pre-colored rim. I was just wondering if African meers benefit from wax like Turkish meers? It's already gained a little bit of color on the top of the shank and looks as if it's coloring down from the rim. If you have one, tell me how you like yours and if it's changed appearance over time or not.

They actually do gain patina over time, and the pre-colored darkened rim begins coloring from the rim down. I'm just wondering if it's need beeswax assistance or if I need to go poach some whales.

I have several and they will color over time. No assistance is required.

This is my Pioneer African Meer. It will color, but very slowly over time. I do not think if I were you,I would do nothing to it but smoke it...
