I have been in Vegas since Saturday and have a couple more days to go. This is the first time I have been here since I took up pipe smoking last fall. I took 4 pipes with me, thinking I would smoke while here. I learned pretty quickly though that I find it difficult to smoke a pipe at the tables. My attention is focused on the game and I end up with a very hot smoking pipe. After scorching my tongue a few times (I rarely have this issue at home) I switched to cigars. I guess for me pipe smoking and gambling don't go together all that well.
On the positive side, I am in the black by about $ 11k so far (knock on wood). Of this, my wife is responsible for a good chunk of it. She won $15k in a slot machine win - since she is a nonresident the casino withheld 30% in US federal income taxes. I will be working to get all or a good chunk of the taxes back when I return. I have been bugging her, telling her she has a lucky horseshoe buried up her ass. I may have to plan some PAD for the winnings if our luck doesn't start going south. And to think I always bug her about playing slot machines - yeesh, I will never live this down. I now call her my Sugar Momma.
