Hey all, I stumbled across a couple of fantastic folk-style tunes on youtube this evening, and I thought I'd share them here. If anyone can appreciate some good historic-type folk music, it would be pipe smokers. These songs are both reminiscent of music that might have been performed in an Irish or English pub 100+ years ago, or even today of course.
The first is an upbeat ballad / traditional irish style folk tune by a seemingly little-known group called The Press Gang:

The second is an old sea shanty sung by sailors during work, such as hauling in the sheets, to keep rhythm and coordinate their movements. The group, and especially the singing leader, are great.

If you've got any good tunes that seem a good fit for the pipe, please post. Of course, the notion of a "good pipe smoking song" is entirely subjective, if not a bit inherently absurd. Some smokers might prefer to blow big demonic clouds of smoke out of their nostrils while listening to Slayer  but I suppose I'm more of an appreciator of tradition :puffpipe: Either way, let's hear some songs!
