You high dollar guys are fun.
For everyday drinking I stand by former Missouri Secretary of State, Jim Kirkpatrick's favorite tipple, Hiram Walker's Ten High. I met this gentleman in a parking lot almost forty odd years ago in Lamar, MO and he told me that Ten High was wonderful for mixed drinks and damned near as good straight.
I've been a believer for all these years.
Is it the best sour mash on the market? Good Lord, no, not by a long shot. But, does it serve the public well? Oh, hell yes - by a long shot. Go ahead and rattle up an Old Fashioned or Manhattan with Ten High. You won't be disappointed.

Yeah I know Irish Whiskey ain't got no corn squeezins in it but it's a smooth and not too pricey tipple. Works for me but then I don't really have a pallit/pellat/pallet/palete/pallat/palote/pallette/palate capable of parsing the infinite subtleties of the water of life.
