Strangely, I don't mind the Velvet Underground Nico as much. Seems to work.

Still don't gewt what a scuba tank has to do with a dirty old man or any of the songs on the album. :( That said, I have most of the JT albums on vinyl in good condition, the only way to fly!

Toobfreak - You got me to wondering where the title came from. Turns out, Aqualung was a homeless character Ian came up with. The song is about homelessness. The connection to an aqualung is the sound underwater when inhaling and exhaling. He figured his homeless character would have a breathing problem, TB maybe, and would have been nicknamed Aqualung because of his audible, labored breathing. Happy stuff!! Now we all know. :)

She is quite polarizing, for sure. My brother would not even be in the same room when I played her stuff when we were young! I love her voice/style........ somewhat cold & unemotional, but it just works with some songs, particularly this one. Then again, I'm one of the weird ones, and somewhat prefer the meloncholy/detached/depressed styles.............

I don't actually have a strong opinion about Nico, but in most cases I prefer to hear the songwriter sing their own song. There is something conveyed, perhaps on a subconscious level, that is usually lacking when someone else sings it. There are always exceptions of course, but in the case of JB songs, I've never heard a version by another singer that I prefer to his original.

When I was an Operations Manager at a Youth Shelter for the State 20 years ago, my musician friends working there and I would play "Live at Pompeii" until we wore out the videotape. Those troubled youth did NOT think it was "The Bomb" and had no idea the foxes were in charge of the hen house. Good Times. :)

I have Live at Pompeii on both VHS and DVD but I am most proud of having seen it in a theater. And on a separate note - Pagan, Tool rocks.

Been on a Deftones kick lately. Their cover of If Only Tonight We Could Sleep is brilliant and sounds amazing on a good system with some base. It's seriously intense.
