Outstanding, I wonder if it's briar. I found my block was too hard to do anything but make a simple pipe.

Nevertheless it's amazing.

..Yep, it's briar....I've done some figural carving in briar and it's very, very difficult....

I'd kill for that Gandalf pipe... I am seriously going to try and take up the craft. Maybe my drawing skills will translate to pipe-carving.

I imagine I will be carving whatever wood is cheap and easy to carve to begin with. If I manage to improve, I may try and get my hands on some briar blanks.
