Just had some Dunhill Flake ... can't say enough good things about it.
I spent a week up in northern Michigan recently. The only pipe tobacco I remembered to bring with me was a six-year-old tin of Escudo. Oh, darn. :puffy:

Agreed, Dunhill Flake is just about as good as it gets. I go back and forth, but it's in my top 5 list of "Trapped On Desert Island" tobaccos.

These are all great suggestions. McClelland Navy Cavendish from their Matured Virginia line is one of my favorites. Don't let "cavendish" throw you off; it's a Virginia flake. It's mild to medium in strength, but with a deep rich flavor that's got a malty, sweet, bready thing going on.
I've also been really enjoying a couple of VaPerOr blends like Low Country's Waccamaw and GLP Temple Bar. Both are complex and rich in flavor, but not too strong

For VaPers I'd recommend McC. Either St. James Woods or the bulk 2015. Both are excellent representations of a VaPer.
