I recently acquired an early 1970s tin of Murray's Erinmore Flake and an early 1980s Three Nuns (Made In England).
Both had intact tax seals and were $25 each. The Three Nuns was crisp and I am rehydrating a portion, test bowl was just OK. The Erinmore Flake however is perfect for smoking and absolutely sublime.
I have a few fresh tins to pick up at work tonight and will attempt a side by side comparison soon. Interestingly enough, the pipe cleaner coloration (deep orange/brown) lends some creedence to the theory that Erinmore may be a culprit in the Estate pipe ghosting mystery I have been pondering.
Keep hitting up those antique stores gentlemen!
