Hey guys i was just wondering how long i can keep tobacco in a twist off tin once its been open?

Also what about tins that don't twist off (boswell, sutliff,c&d)

Should these be jarred right away?

I think it depends on where you live. I live in the middle of a high desert, and I notice that tobacco in a open tin begins to dry out after just a handful of days.

It also depends on the cut of the tobacco. I live in Colorado Springs (6,500ft) where it’s pretty dry, and the last tin of Dunhill Early Morning Pipe I bought was getting crispy in its screw top tin after only a couple weeks after opening. But it’s a fine shag cut. I can usually get a month out of a tin before it gets crumbly dry, but I usually smoke thicker cuts also.
