loved the catalog they threw in - just the right thing for browsing outside with a pipe.

Have been sampling Connoisseur's Choice. Okay, doesn't knock my socks off so far. Interesting mix of cuts though.

12 oz of PS Turkish

2 tins of Capstan Blue, one to try and one to set aside

3 tins of Escudo to add to the pile

A tin of Dunhill Flake

And a tin of GLP Cumberland

Me to. Just ordered a pound of Altadis B36 Summer Night from Smoking Pipes. What the hell, for less than $14.00 if I don't like it, I'll stash it till I'm out of everything else!

SP Altadis aromatics sale, I bought 8 oz of "Queen Anne's Revenge," burley, Va., cavendish with rum, and

8 oz of "Dark Obsession," black cavendish with walnut. A pound of tobacco for just over $20. Can't beat

it with a stick. I'm pleased with both. The "Dark Obsession" should blend with other tobaccos nicely too.

Just received my Stanwell No. 11 Navy Commander yesterday. What an amazing pipe. It's pure bliss for No. 11 fetishists (such as myself). Why can't Stanwell sell this pipe in the USA?? The 242, while a nice miniature clone, pales in comparison.
TAD-wise, I walked out of a Tennessee B&M with some Marlin Flake, some English Chocolate, and some nice, dry, bulk Autumn Evening.

I was going to hold out, finish off a couple of jars that I'm not planning to order again, and then expand my horizons...
And then I got the e-mail from P&C about the Escudo sale.
Sigh.
4 tins of Escudo (at the rate I'm smoking these days, this could be the beginning of my cellar...)

1 pouch of Prince Albert (for research purposes, seriously!)

1 small tin of Black House (need to restock)

4 oz. PS Luxury Bullseye Flake (ditto)
I think I'll need to smoke a few extra bowls this weekend to make room. :D

Stopped by a B&M while traveling and look what I found...

Can't wait to try the Pelican. The number on the bottom of the tin is 321073. Any idea how old it is?

As a newbie piper I just placed my first online order picking out my first tin purchases ever. Here is what I ordered nothing unusual but I did read allot of people's likes so I pulled the card out and ordered 1 tin of Mac Baren Plum Cake 1 tin of Mac Baren Navy Flake and 1 tin of Mac Baren Mixture Scottish Blend... It's a start.
Unfortunately none of my friends smoke pipes so I do not have a way to get samples of stuff to try first so for awhile it will be 1 tin at a time until I figure out my likes and dislikes. They did order should arrive this Friday so I am stoked to be able to have the weekend to try them out. .
After a week or 2 of trying these out I will have to read what others like and pick out another round of 3 tins to continue my journey through tobacco heaven!!!

From SP, I received 2 oz of bulk CD Pegasus, a tin of CD Riverboat Gambler, and a tin of Stanwell Melange.

I can say, the Pegasus is quite stirring, not the mellowest but tasty and entertaining. I've gone back for

several bowls. The tins I will let age for a while. Lots of others open or (small quantities) in bags.

Made a little order from Pipes&Cigars yesterday,to wit:

Dunhill Flake 2 tins an old fave, for the cellar

GL Pease Meridian 2 tins Never smoked before

John Bull Buy 1 Get 1 Free A total shot in the dark. Dunno how good it will be. For $4.95, not a big loss

Balkan Sasieni 1 tin A revisit - used to smoke a lot of this, then stopped.

Rattrays Old Gowrie 1 tin A revisit - I enjoyed this, never bought more. Don't know why. Time to look at it again and see where it fits.

Captain Earle's Mystic Blend I had some of this - an aged sample - in a box pass this summer. Want to get a whole tin and see what I think.

Three Nuns 2 tins - One for the near future, one for the cellar

Burley London 1 tin - It's going away,so I grabbed some. I'll try to get another tin or two. This 1s one of those "I enjoyed it but not enough to keep it on hand all the time" blends.
