Fascinating! I always love the creativity in assembling the right tools to get the job done properly.

I would have also guessed the stamp was heated and melted into the stem, versus pressure like a wood stamp.

There's nothing that heating would improve, but it would definitely add complexity and expense (to a factory workstation), so I doubt any company anywhere ever did things that way. The old joke "An ingenious solution to a non-existent problem" comes immediately to mind. :lol:
