One of my more rambling posts- I'm sitting here on Thursday trying to figure out why I'm totally worn out...Tracking back to the weekend, I spent most of my time smoking ribs and starting a couple of pipes. Then, the usual office madness on Monday while trying to finish the pipes in between phone calls...Then it was a 4 hour drive to the coast to inspect a 57' Riviera that we are financing for a client in Puerto Rico (all in Spanish of course)...and driving back yesterday...and here I am today finishing the last of the pipes...with a glass of wine in hand thinking what a great week! Can't wait to do it again...:)

So first- the ribs- Smoked for 4 hours in the Big Green Egg

Next the pipes- One I call "Diablito"- little devil... a takeoff on a very small Devil Anse with Fossil Walrus tooth. The other pipe was a request for a Canadian measuring only 5.25"...Thought they came out rather nice...

I like this part the best:
57' Riviera
Really a beautiful boat- this one's headed south to Fajardo, PR... We usually spend a week every month working in Puerto Rico- one of our favorite places...

Wow Zack those pipes, boat and wife all look amazing.
I'd be afraid to ask what a boat like that runs. Lol

Don, the ribs run $5.99 a pound, the boat runs $2.1m and 28 knots, and Greta is PRICELESS!!

I love the beveled, polished bowl top.

2.1m??? Wow. That's a nice commission!

Can that sail the open water to Puerto Rico? Who delivers it?

We get a small slice of that pie...but it's very nice...delivery on the Riviera is usually a run down to PR at 20 knots- They stop for fuel and run slower at night. Figure 3 days total. I have a Captains license and always offer to fill in as crew...This one has a nice option- a $88,000 Seakeeper gyro stabilizer...makes for a nice ride...

Do they require drying, and are they hard to keep lit?
I keep them wet and smoky...:)
