My birthday was a couple of days ago and an unexpected package arrived in my mailbox today from Mike Thompson. I ripped it open to find a mason jar of Cherry Rumtopf. What a pleasant surprise. I ate a spoonful of the cherries and they are delicious. I can't wait to have some on top of some ice cream or pound cake.
The batch of rumtopf I made is still aging up in my dark cold attic waiting to be opened this Saturday when we have guests over.
