Or for a sweet and sassy mixed drink, Dr. Pepper and a dark rum on ice.

That actually sounds ... really good.

Madox07, have you tried Pampero? It is a rich, dark rum in the same vein as Matusalem.

But I do enjoy a hennessey occasionally, though scotch is my go-to usually.

thinking back on some late night libations with a good friend of mine, I have no clue what you would call this rum-based mixed drink, but I found it to be delicious.
2 shots of rum(I think we used Captain Morgan)

Spoonful of brown sugar

Ice

If I remember correctly, I was trying to make some sort of grog, as in throw whatever I had on hand into a glass and see what happens. The result was delicious, and I look forward to eventually getting around to experimenting more with different bottles of rum when I eventually get the original recipe down. I suspect It would go swimmingly with a nice VA blend, but I'll have to experiment more with that too, and I look forward to it.
