He was my first taste of Bond. My parents took our big ass Plymouth station wagon to the drive-in when Octopussy came out in the theaters, the drive-in was running a double feature that began with For Your Eyes Only and then Octopussy second. I still remember being mesmerized by the girls, the guns, the baddies and most of all the debonair British secret agent James Bond, who at that time was played by Roger Moore. My father preferred Sean Connery, but as I had never seen a Connery Bond at that point, Roger Moore was James Bond to me, it was many years later before I would prefer Sean Connery as Bond, but Roger Moore will always have a special place in my heart, for introducing Bond and the whole secret agent mystique to me in the summer of 1983 when I was 8 going on 007!

I had seen a few of the Connery films first if I remember correctly, but only on TV. Roger was the Bond I remember on the big screen as a kid. RIP Roger.
My favorite Bond film was live and let die.
One thing's for sure...it was hands down the best Bond movie song:

I guess the man in the Mao suit with the white cat finally caught up with him! Here is a brief film made about him and Connery living in a retirement home...
