I didn't grow up with all his comics as a kid as much as a lot of others might have, but his comics were still there for me when I was a kid. Anytime I wanted to read a new Marvel story and imagine myself as the Hulk or even Spiderman. He showed the world that comics weren't just for children, but it was art and he cared passionately about it. He was a great man and he will be missed. I know I will certainly miss all his fantastic cameo appearances in all of the Marvel movies of late. Rest in peace, Stan!

95 is a fair bargain for a life well lived. He will continue to touch the lives of many beyond this century, of that I'm sure! Condolences to his fans and family.

Oh no :( This is indeed sad news. I've been a fan of comic books since I was very young.
I know I will certainly miss all his fantastic cameo appearances in all of the Marvel movies of late.
I had always hoped they would do a movie with Stan Lee in the lead role as himself, walking and traveling through New York city going about his daily life with all the super heroes and villains making cameos as they battled it out in all out war, while Stan Lee was oblivious to it all  That would have been fantastic!
It is indeed a sad day in the comic book world. May he rest in peace.

He was an awesome creative person. I used up a lot of childhood birthday wishes wishing to be Spider-man. RIP Stan Lee.

I was always a big fan of Stan Lee and am crestfallen to hear of his passing. My son was also a big fan, and we both had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of years ago at the Toronto Fan Expo. My son has of picture of him and Stan hanging prominently on the wall of his room and he is truly heartbroken over this.
All that said, the man had a great run.
Excelsior!

This makes me sad. I was an avid Marvel comics fan as a kid and always looked forward to his cameos in all the MCU movies. That said, 95 and a long, productive career bringing joy to people ain't bad. I sincerely hope that I don't live to 95. RIP Stan!

Sad for us that he is gone. Happy for him he got to see his dream reach worldwide exposure and his legacy cemented into modern culture. He had a hell of a run.

What a legacy! I would assume by his numerous cameo appearances in these later years that he truly enjoyed his work...

I have been a huge Stan Lee fan since the 60s when I first started reading his work as a child. Indeed, to a life that touched so many ...

Been gone all day and found out listening to the car radio that Stan Lee had passed. The subject of his life and career is a very complicated one, and I shall not delve into that now. I'll just say my personal experiences, including working for him, were all positive. Good bye Stan.

A really great figure from the comics we all read as kids and young adults. At 95 to be checking out is not to bad a way to go.

For some years, my wife supervised and edited a section called Kid's Day at the newspaper Newsday on Long Island. She'd visit schools and help the kids produce the page, supervise reporting and interviews the kids did, and edit the end product. She arranged for the kids to interview Stan, and he turned out to be a wonderful interview for them, warm and welcoming and really understanding of their point of view. How people treat children is perhaps a spotlight into their souls.

My inner child dreams that Stan really isn't dead and will make a surprise appearance in the next issue.
In any event, it must have been truly sureal for Stan to live as long as he did and see the major cultural impact that he was partly responsible for. I only wish that Jack Kirby had lived as long as Stan and was able to have a similar experience.
