Fantagraphics Books has been releasing Walt Kelly's Pogo strips for a few years now, and although there have been significant publishing delays (the volume I received this past weekend I ordered in March 2016!) the wait has always been worth it. Kelly's pen and ink work is amazing, and his use of language is a constant source of amusement for me.

Imagine my surprise when I opened up the book and saw Albert with a pipe instead of his usual stogie! I think he was heading for a trip north and wanted to look "fancy"

I long since miss the strip but I'm glad the estate didn't permit a surrogate to carry on. Kelly was the only Pogo guru.

Actually, there was a brief reintroduction of the strip with surrogate art and writing but the magic wasn't there and mercifully, it didn't last long.
I just got notified that my copy of the 4th book was shipped and I too ordered it back in 2016.
Pogo is always worth waiting for!
