I have a tin of Butera Royal Vintage Matured Ribbon and the date code on the bottom is smudged. I took off the label and the code under reads 042880106102325. I'm thinking the date stamp on the bottom might read 80 10 but its hard to tell. I also see the 8010 number pattern in the long code. Can anyone help?

All of my recent purchases on Butera from online sources have been 2017. 15 tins from 3 different vendors!
I think the code you are referring to is the tin mfg number.

McClelland tins are dated with a blend number, batch number, and year
Example from one of my Navy Cavendish tins
29 is the blend

14 is the batch

11 is the year
Reading 29 14 11
I'm not certain if they dated Butera tins the same way. Would have to see a photo.

I think I'll agree with 2010 :) I asked my wife to take a guess and she agreed that the last 2 # are 1-0
