in all honesty i would say go with a cheap one. it is a different experence smoking on, and you might be turned off from it and it would kind of suck to spend a good chunk of cash on one.

I own a Peterson churchwarden right now and I enjoy it more than any other pipe I own but the shape and style of that particular pipe is what I'm after. Perhaps an acrylic stem with an amber look.
