I acquired a zippo today too, along with my new, currently unidentified pipe at the same antique mall. Paid $30 for this one, but I got it more because of the text on the side. No more like it will be made, so I think I got it at a bargain. Never been out of the bag before, but I bought it to use it.

If you pull the wick just above the chimney, there's no need for the pipe insert.

Very nice! I love my Zippos. There's just something about that metalic "click-click," sound when opening and closing that's music to my ears. Some pipe smokers hate it because of the smell and possible taste of fuel when lighting your pipe. But if you let it burn for a few seconds before touching flame to tobacco, that smell and taste goes away. Enjoy your new Zippo!
