Just picked up a new mystery novel by Regis McCafferty called Twenty Six Days...the main character is a devotee to pipe and tobacco and inveterate pipe smoker...looks to be a good read

If you like Twenty Six Days, McCafferty has a collection of short stories also about Joshua Pitt called The Sherlock Holmes Adventure. It's on par with Twenty Six Days.

My wife informs me that the mysteries that she reads (set in the 1920's) all have pipe smoking in them. Not sure I'm ready for Daisy Dalrymple, but she finds it interesting that no one talks about what kind of pipe the inspector's smoke and that they don't have more than one.
But, while we're on the topic, Sherlock Holmes "charges" his pipes, instead of packing them. Is there a difference?
