Direct from Laudisi Distribution Group social media page, I came across this while browsing.
"The first shag-cut facing from G.L. Pease, Penny Farthing is a blend of bright and red Virginias, spiced with Louisiana Perique and a hint of fire-cured dark Kentucky. Available at a retailer near you (and online) Monday, July 8, 2019"

Interesting. It's always exciting when a new GL Pease blend comes out. It seems like the VaPers with a bit of DFK work really well for my palate, and I really like shags for driving, so this should be a winner for me.

I'm into shag cuts as well.
I cut GL Pease plug blends into a shag and they smoke effortlessly (JackKnife and Triple Play)
The only other quasi-like shag cut I've come across is Stratford which is a really nice Va/Per, more Virginia based. I prefer the "finer" things in life.

This sounds good. I'm enjoying my first tin of GLP Haddo's delight. Another excellent non-shag blend is Russ' Fire Storm, which is also Virginia, Perique, and dark fired.

This sounds quite good! I really like the particular dark fired GLP uses, this should be quite interesting.

Gawith Hoggarth Dark Bird's eye is a good VA one.
Esoterica Brighton as well for a bright VA, and Esoterica Margate is also technically a shag if you like english blends, although both of these Esoterica blends seem a rather thickly cut shag to me.
Can't wait to try the Penny Farthing. Sounds tasty.

I agree with MSO489, “Firestorm “ is very good tobacco. I’m looking forward to trying this new one from GLP.

@alaskan I'd love to try some Esoterica but it seems to be the rage with the teens pipe smokers these days.
@railman I've found GL Pease DFK's to be top notch.
@Embers It has the same blend components, but I thought however Sixpence contained an alcoholic topping according to TR....
I'm looking forward to this. Wonder how it will compare with Triple Play, as it also contains the same leaf.

TR also has reviews for Kane's Lamb Slices.
Never noticed it. Sixpence and Solani Silver Flake are remarkably the same to me, both with similar components, so this new blend just seems a bit redundant.

@Embers Perhaps, most toppings don't translate too much into flavor anyways. You'd know better than I, I haven't tried either of those blends.
Regardless, I'm glad that a new shag cut is coming.I like the burning qualities of it. You can have a moist tobacco in a shag cut and it will smoke effortlessly.

Variations on a theme is sort of a GLP "thing" so it doesn't surprise me that this would have similar compoents to other blends. A shag cut is likely to yirld different results though, so count me interested.
Man that's some thin looking ribbon. Almost looks like Semois.
I was thinking Kizami, haha
I was thinking Daughters & Ryan Ryback, which I've smoked pounds of, rolled into cigarettes. I don't mean that as a dis, either. I like Ryback, and the components are similar.

Very good news! I always look forward to a new GL Pease blend. While not thrilled about shag, I understand the period-piece idea he's recreating. I love this tin art and have got my fingers crossed that (at least initially) it won't be defaced by the ubiquitous anti-tobacco warning label.

Never noticed it

Weird, I’ve only smoked one tin of Sixpence but my tin was heavily topped with some sort of cheap smelling liquor, that being said, I very much enjoyed that tin, enough so that I cellared that one deep.
