Picked up a new glass display cabinet for $60 at IKEA based on my wife's recommendation. Loading it up with my pipes and fossils. I love that it will help protect my stuff from guests (I would say guest's children but my friends basically behave like children too  ) randomly picking things up and my wife says it reminds her of a museum.
Overall display:

My Dunhill, Savinelli, Mega tooth, and mammoth bone Ulu knife:

My Johs, Bjarne, mosasaur tooth, fossilize chrysanthemum, and some sort of squid:

I've got a Nording on the way and I've got my eye on another Savinelli and a trilobite fossil that I think will fill out the case nicely.
The bottom shelf is going to house my copy of "Full Circle" by Algernon Blackwood which was signed by the author. Just waiting for the display stand to arrive.
I've got a stick on LED to place in the top yet too.

Thanks for all the pix! That makes an attractive display case. How do you access the pipes? Is one side open? Also, with all the available natural light, it doesn't look "vulcanite friendly". Will that be an issue?

Yeah, you'll have to keep the sunlight off the vulcanite or you will the lovely shade of green.
Nice cabinet, good score!!

I like it! Do you mainly Lucite stem pipes or Vulcanite? If the latter you will want to keep the stems coated with obsidian oil to minimize oxidation. That stand is next to direct sunlight.

I think there is a thin transparent plastic sheet that you can get for windows that blocks UV light. That might help with the discolouration issue, should that concern you.
That's a nice looking cabinet! It does remind me a little of a museum display. 'Artifacts of a Past Age' or something like that!

It would be cool to have a pipe made with one of the fossils you founds some day. Here in southern Ohio (where the great glacier stopped during the ice age) we have some of the finest fossil hunting in the US.

I do use obsidian oil on my stems but UV tint on the window seems like a good idea too even though I never open the blinds in this location.
I like the look of the display enough that even if I were to quit smoking I'd still keep the display as-is. The wood and fossil does make a nice looking combo.

I'm picking up some UV tint this weekend but I think I might also relocate the case to a spot away from windows.
Updated shelf with my new Nording Freehand (stand is on its way), medicine bear, and stag handle obsidian blade knife:

My signed copy of "Full Circle" by Algernon Blackwood, one of my favorite authors, and my copy of "Cuentos Macabros" (Macabre Stories) by Edgar Allan Poe, another of my favorite authors, which was a gift from my wife to help encourage me to learn Spanish:

Overall (it's filling up nicely but there's still plenty of room for more pipes):

I'll post updated pics when my next few pipes come in. :puffpipe:
