Once again, the positive response is overwhelming. I was starting to get really depressed over this whole ordeal, but knowing that you guys lent me a sympathetic ear and are sending her some good vibes had given me some happiness again. You guys are the finest bunch of gentlemen and ladies I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, and I cannot thank you all enough.
Contact the BAR association in your district. They can give you a list of lawyers that will represent you in a case like this and save you hourse of tire kicking.
Thank you for that suggestion piperl12. I think I am going to do that tomorrow because any of the lawyers in Illinois that I have found through a web search that deal with this kind of thing, I would have to drive at least an hour in any given direction, and if I can find someone closer that would be great. I will keep in touch and let you and everyone else know how it turns out.

. If you get an attorney, you need one who specialized in Social Security and Disability claims. Her work is simply stalling. I've seen it before. Usually a call from an attorney can get them unstuck. Also SSI/Disability claims with the government will often be denied the first time, so keep trying.

So here is a quick update for anyone interested: Miss Rachel has started new medication that keeps her nerve pain at bay and she is almost back to her old self. The first couple of days she was back to being goofy and playful I was in tears non-stop and it is such a relief knowing that something out there is working. However, on the note of work, she got cleared by her doctor to go back to work with some light work restriction, but not only is her work very adamant about her coming back with no restrictions at all, they have made it clear that they are not willing to accommodate her having a disability, which I know damn good and well is a violation of several laws. I have contacted a lawyer and we are currently working on the issue, but things are still in the works. This whole thing can only end a few different ways, all of which possibly favorable: Either her job won't accommodate her disability and we sue their asses off, or her job comes their senses and lets her come back, or her job decides to let her go for being off work too long in which case she can collect unemployment, or we can talk to SSI and see if they can do anything for us. In any case, we are working to get this resolved, and she is still scheduled for surgery to have her cyst removed either the end of this year or very early next year, which isn't too bad given the waiting list for the specialist she is scheduled to see. Thanks again for those that offered kind words and prayers for our situation.
