I just got this Ulu knife for cutting my plug tobaccos. It works like a dream.

Source?? Papipe did you get the cool cutting board at the same place? I've been getting by using scissors, and nibbling away at the edges.

The plug is Peterson Perfect Plug. I rock the knife over the plug and it cuts right through It's a neat tool and requires little effort. The real test will be Mick McQuaid Plug as it's the densest plug I've encountered.

I've always enjoyed the good natured oneupmanship around here.
John offers an elegantly practical, hand carry solution and George trumps with a forty lb. vaguely Victorian guillotine.
It's good to be around friends.

I got one of those for Christmas this year. I haven't used it for ANYthing.

I've been using a chef's knife or an lock blade pocket knife to cut my plugs.

There is only one bevel on the cutting edge of my Ulu. I'm left handed, so I wonder which direction I should try the ulu? I'd rather be able to cut something close to 'uniform', not wedged and chunky.

Nevermind, I read the instruction booklet! Beveled part toward the product. I considered it a souvenir.

Maybe it'll work for me too. I don't have a bowl though. that might be better than a board.
