Briefly, I have this one Castello stem which is otherwise Ok but the button part is a bit high for my liking,now can I file&sand it down similarly to those from ebonite, finishing the job using solid white diamond and carnauba on a wheel.

Thanks for the pieces of added info.

The carnuba on the wheel won't have much effect on acrylic stem (well, it will get it waxy...).

You might instead use some White Diamond rouge (or similar). A high grade wet paper will probably also yield the surface finish you desire. (2000 or 3000 grit)
