I recently asked Michael Parks' to make me his interpretation of a Sherlockian calabash out of briar. Yesterday he sent me pics of the completed pipe, which includes a horn accent.
SB Calabash

Black and cream spiked ebonite taper stem with horn accent band.

Length - 7 1/2"

Bowl Height - 3 3/16"

Bowl Width (Of Cap) - 2 3/8"

Shank Diameter (At Stem) - 5/8"

Chamber Diameter - 15/16"

Chamber Depth - 1 1/2"

Weight - 121g
Now all I need is one of those goofy Sherlock hats like cigrmaster wears and I will be all set.

Nice! I've got a pipe either in his mind or on his workbench somewhere? How long was the turnover for your calabash?

Beauty is perhaps in the eye of the beholder, but obviously this beholder is blind. That Michael Parks guy is a hack. I'm not implying that your pipe is crap... I'm saying it outright. :nana:

Beautiful pipe. Exquisite birdseye on the faceted bowl - like a gemstone.
Peck, you know the hat is called a deerstalker. Harris has to wear it because the poor old guy doesn't know whether he is coming or going.

As we say in French, esquise! Well, whatever exquisite comes out to, not real sure about that word.
And start saving your dottle. Apparently Mr. Holmes saved several lumps throughout the day, put them on the mantle to dry overnight, and smoked the "mixture" in the morning. The first EMP.....

That's one special pipe. Love the contrast stain on the cup.
But at 121g, will it be a clencher or hand-held only?
