I just spent some time perusing calabashes by other makers. The comparison makes this one even more stunning.

Jefff, I looked at several briar calabashes and some don't even resemble a true gourd calabash to my eye. What I liked about what Michael did is that he really channeled the shape of a real gourd. I would send Michael a link to this discussion but I don't want it to go to his head.
