On of the greatest concept albums so far in the 21st century has to be written by young metal band called Protest The Hero, and the album was called Kezia.
These kids wrote this album when they were 18 - 19 years old, which is impressive beyond belief considering the musicianship lurking beneath the distortion and double kick.
The concept behind the albums is from 3 perspective's; the priest (songs 1 thru 3), the prison guard (songs 4 thru 6) and Kezia herself (songs 7 thru 9).
The actual concept behind the album is up for debate, but my interpretation is the story is about a girl, Kezia, who has been sentenced to death after killing her abusive father.
First time I realized the concept behind the album, I was nearly in tears through the emotions this album triggered.
Protest The Hero - Kezia (full album)

Similar to that one? Seems almost like it has its roots in folk, the concept and everything.
Today, for me it's:

And a pipe loaded 70-30 with Stirling Flake and Brown Twist Sliced, perhaps my favorite smoke ever... for this week at least ;)

just ordered some new patches for the vest that should be coming in next week. Got a round pentagram to match the chaos star on the breast pocket, a Heidevolk patch, a Candlemass one, and a Pest one.

It has a good diversity of patches. Mercyful Fate, Burzum, Graveland, Blasphemy, Enslaved, Immortal, Skyforger, and many others I can't identify at this resolution :)

Not listened to Bolt Thrower in ages, that was a blast from the past.
northernneil, I enjoyed that Protest the Hero album, cheers for the heads-up. The singer did remind me of the guy from Panic at the Disco though!
I dug out Operation Mindcrime by Queensryche the other day and remembered just what an awesome album it is. They never really came close to it again imo.
