Was just curious if anyone happened to know if this was one of the Marxman Heirloom pipes? The carving seems to be above average and at the same time to good to be on an unmarked pipe.

I found this interesting article on the subject. If that pipe is a Marxman Heirloom the buyer got a heck of a deal.

No, its not as Heirlooms are over-the-top intricate and big. Been chasing them for 8 years. Nothing except a few photos here and there. Emailed BH a time or two for his input on some. That is a rare figural I've never seen before though. Just my opinion as a long time Marxman fan.

Thanks for the info. So in your opinion, would that mean that those shown as examples on pipedia.org in their Marxman entry are not really Heirlooms? Would not descibe any of the four as over the top intricate
