I have one last pipe to add to my collection this year. I bought this Sasieni Fantail last week because it's rusticated finish matches a Viscount Lasalle bent that I already had.

The older Sasieni pipes that I have handled all have an elegant feel to them. I guess that's the word I'm looking for. Elegant. They just handle differently than the rest of my pipes, not to mention they smoke great.

From what I have read, their rusticated finish was applied by women setting at a bench using a tool, and just following the natural grain of the wood. I believe they even had a patent for this style finish, but I could be wrong. It's been a long time since I have read anything about them.
