I just received my Joe Nelson panel ( Old Nellie Pipes). His shaping and his take on the panel is absolutely perfect. The proportions and design of this panel show his level of craftsmanship.I had the first smoke in it and it is going to be a dedicated Va/Per pipe. Joe was great to work with and he kept to his stated timeline.
I used his pictures as it is a hard pipe to photograph

Great panel! His pipes are hard to find (outside of commissions, I suppose), but he has some really interesting designs.

Great looking pipe. I have a one of Joe's "Panel-Dog" pipes and it's top notch!

I have lusted after a few of Joe's Panel pipes for some time. I always regarded Paol Ilsted as the master of the panel pipe, but Joe Nelson IMO is his equal if not even nicer shapes and execution of the panels. Congrats on an exquisite pipe, they are master works.

Don't have anything in that league, but I'm crazy about panels. Have several American factory panels, a Sav unfinished panel, and a hand-carved Mountain Laurel panel. I bought the Sav and the Mountain Laurel from two different tables at a pipe show -- panel mania. As I recall, foggymountain posted a photo of nine (?) beautiful Dunhill panels, the classic billiards, foursquares I think.
