Well, in preparation for the TAPS Expo this coming weekend, I've been busy adding a few more tampers and a couple more pipe racks. Should have about 4 racks and about 20 tampers ready to sell at the Expo.
Here's the latest pipe rack made from pine and finished with a red oak stain:

And here's the latest tamper made from leftover Rosewood I used on another project:

I see.
Ever tried making a rack that is more, er, streamlined?

I haven't, but I like the way the ones I make offer storage for tobacco, cleaners, etc. It's nice having an all in one station.
That's what I've been thinking.
Not trying to pick on you or demerit your work, CCW. I'm just humbly suggesting that, if you're doing this for profit, even if it's an itty-bitty hobby profit, you'd do well to consider streamlined models. If I were to attend this show, I'd love to patronise your work, but the large cabinets are impractical for those of us living in small apartments where space is at a plus.
Just giving you more ways to bring in more income. **wink, wink** 8)

I like it a lot, and the more I look at it, the more I like it. How much do you usually ask for a rack such as that? - Sherm Natman

I like those tampers you make, and maybe (most likely) I smoke smaller bowled pipes, but those tampers look huge. 8O

Another fine job Matt. Good luck at the show.

I have one of Matt's tampers (Zebra Wood) and it's great, I use it all the time. If Matt ever decides to sell them here on the forum...snatch one up.

I wish I lived closer to Raleigh. I could use a cabinet just like that one ... nice work.
