The leather developes whitish creases when bent or folded. This patina gives it a vintage look that many people seem to absolutely love.

I like that effect too, on stuff I expect to scuff up anyway. That way, I don’t feel like I should replace it once it wears. Not so much on clothes, but on hobby items, sure.

But that might just be rationalization, and I’m an unknowing part of the fad, thinking I’m this unique individual, liking the same thing everyone else does.
