I had to double-check the GBD shape listing, as I've never seen the 2117 "Double-Bowl" pipe. This one was listed on Ebay today (BIN), a New Era Model. Has anyone seen one of these in the flesh?

Huh, Smokers Haven and SmokingPipes have each listed this shape. Who knew?

It looks like someone picked out some fairly decent grain briar to make these.

A reverse calabash. But not.
Basically it's actually a regular/traditional calabash, but shaped differently. Or you can not use the top part and smoke it as a regular pipe.... or you can fill up both bowls, smoke the top bowl, and then light the bottom bowl afterward. I think it's very cool.

There's a concept. I'm incrementally smoking a bowl of Amphora Burley in a fairly deep-bowled Ser Jacopo, and between the blend's cut and the big bowl, it really lasts. This GBD looks like it could go for a few days of intermittent sipping with the right cut of a good blend. Anyone road tested one of these? If so, give us a report.
