I was recently introduced to fennel tea and love it. So far, in my short pipe smoking history, I find that my favorite tobaccos contain latakia. I've also found that fennel tea complements the latakia very nicely.

Does the tea taste exactly how I think it does? I can't stand that licorice taste in stuff. Latakia however, is amazing and makes me want to try this combo.

I love fennel tea, the licorice qualities aren't too intense. I can picture the tea refreshing the palate when smoking something heavy like Three Oaks or Vintage Syrian.
Thanks for the tip.

Just a mild licorice flavor. I just found it tO go well with the flavor of Latakia. It is refreshing without overpowering the flavor of the tobacco.

For an alcoholic version try Pernod with lots of water and ice. Similar taste to fennel. Great on a hot summer afternoon, maybe playing petanque.

Fact. I will freely admit that fennel tea was an acquired taste for me, but I can say that it goes quite nicely with most tobaccos
